Controls settings for assistance as you use Solid Edge.
Starting Solid Edge
Show start-up screen
Specifies whether the Solid Edge start-up screen is displayed.
Start using this template
Specifies the template to use when starting Solid Edge.
None is the default which is defined during Solid Edge installation.
Start With My Last Saved Document
Specifies that Solid Edge starts with the last document you saved.
Start Part and Sheet Metal documents using this environment
Specifies that Solid Edge starts with either Synchronous or Ordered environment.
Edit Creation Options
Displays the File Creation Options dialog box so you can specify the templates used to create files. You can add template files to or remove template files from the list. You can also Move Up and Move Down buttons to reorder the list of templates.
Set Default Templates
Displays the Default Templates dialog box, so you can specify the default template name and location for the different document types.
Command Buttons
Show Tool Tips
Specifies whether tool tips are shown when you pause over parts of the Solid Edge interface.
Increase all buttons on Command Ribbon by 2X
Doubles the size of command buttons and command text on the ribbon and on the Quick Access toolbar. This makes commands easier to identify on large computer screens and on high-resolution monitors.
General
Show Command Tips
Specifies whether command tips are displayed as you work in Solid Edge.
Reset Tips
Resets command tips. All command tips that previously displayed one time, and are turned off, display again.
Show Sensor Indicator
Specifies whether sensor warning and violation notifications are displayed in the graphics window in part, sheet metal, and assembly documents. This option also activates/deactivates the Sensor Assistant.
When this option is cleared, violation and warning notifications are visible only on the Sensors tab on PathFinder. This option does not affect the sensors themselves.
Application color scheme
Provides a list of color schemes you can apply to the Solid Edge menu or UI elements, including the command ribbon background.
Note:
The window color scheme is controlled separately by Windows.
Show PathFinder in the document view
Show PathFinder in the document view
Specifies the appearance of PathFinder within the active document view. It functions as a dockable pane and its background is transparent.
Note:
This functionality is not available on the Windows XP operating system.
This functionality is not applicable to the Simulation pane within the Simulation environment.
PathFinder appearance
Provides a list for control of the PathFinder appearance.
Command User Interface
Use horizontal toolbar form
When a command is chosen, the command bar appears as a horizontal toolbar. The horizontal command bar can be dragged in the graphics window.
Use vertical docking window
When a command is chosen, the command bar appears in a docking window pane. The vertical command bar can be undocked and dragged in the graphics window.
Radial Menus
Use gestures
Specifies whether mouse gestures are used to launch radial menus.
Minimum drag distance for gesture
When holding down the right mouse button, this specifies the minimum distance the cursor must travel before that movement is recognized as a gesture to start a command on the radial menu. This distance is measured in screen pixels.
Show radial menu after
Specifies the elapsed time the right mouse button must be pressed to display the radial menu. Measured in milliseconds.
Live Rules
Show Live Rules in the document view
Specifies that the Live Rules menu is displayed in the document view.
Show as a floating panel
Specifies that Live Rules exists in a floating panel which can be dragged in the document view.
Note:
In Windows XP systems, Live Rules only resides in a floating panel.
Make Live Rules panel vertical
Specifies vertical orientation of the Live Rules panel.
Document Name Formula
Displays a value you compose by selecting various document properties. The list of available properties you can choose from is based on your active document. You can use the formula in place of the file name throughout Solid Edge.
Change
Displays the Document Name Formula dialog box, so you can replace the display of the file name with a formula composed of document properties.
