With any 2D sketching command active, position the cursor over a principal plane on a coordinate system, a planar face, or reference plane, pause the cursor, then press F3 or click the lock symbol (A). |

Position the cursor over an unlocked sketch entry in PathFinder, then right-click Lock Sketch Plane. |

Tip:
When you lock the sketch plane manually, it remains locked until you manually unlock it, or you construct a feature using the sketch.
When the sketch plane is locked automatically, it is automatically unlocked when you right-click to restart the current command or start another command.
