The Bullets and Numbering tab appears in the Text Box Style dialog box when you use the Styles command to create or modify a text box style, and in the Text Box Properties dialog box when you modify a text box. Not all options are available when defining the text style.

No list
Specifies that the text does not use list formatting.
Bullets
Applies a bullet list format to the selected text or to new text. When you press Enter, the bullet list format is continued on the next line. You can turn off the bullet list formatting by pressing Enter and then selecting the No List option.
Style
Selects a bullet style for the bullet list. The default bullet style is Filled Round (•). All options are shown in the following table.

Numbering
Applies a numbered list format to the selected text or to new text.
Style
Selects a style for the numbered list. The default number style is 1, 2, 3. All options are shown in the following table.

Note:
When a Latin alphabet number sequence reaches the end of the alphabet, then it continues with double, and then triple letters.
A, B, C, D, E,... Z
and then:
AA, BB, CC,...ZZ
and then:
AAA, BBB, CCC, ...ZZZ
Start at
Specifies the first number in the numbered list. For integers, the default is 1. Valid values depend on the number Style selected.
Tip:
You can specify a starting value by entering an integer, and its equivalent value is displayed in the list using the selected style.
For Roman numeral styles, you can enter values in the Start at box from 1 through 9999. You also can enter Roman numeral values as follows:
From I to MMMMMMMMMCMXCIX (uppercase style only).
From i to mmmmmmmmmcmxcix (lowercase style only).
For the uppercase Latin alphabet style, you can enter values in the Start at box as follows:
From 1 to 780.
From A to ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ (up to 30 alphabetic characters).
For the lowercase Latin alphabet style, you can enter values in the Start at box:
From 1 to 780.
From a to zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (up to 30 alphabetic characters).
Format
Specifies the numbering format (punctuation). The following numbering formats are available:

Applies left, right, and center justification to the numbers within a numbered list.

You can control list numbering as you type by selecting the Bullets and Numbering button on the Text command bar and then choosing one of the following options from the menu:
