Apply To Model

Applies the current material and/or gage properties to the part.

To create or edit a material for only the current document, make the property changes, then click the Apply To Model button. This material will only be applied to the current document.

You can only have one local material in each document. For example, if you define a local material named SteelPlate, then click Apply To Model, the material name is saved in the current document. Later, if you create a new local material in the document named AluminumPlate, the material entry for SteelPlate is deleted.

This can be useful when you need a variation of a common material, such as when using steel or aluminum structural shapes. Type the new name you want in the Material Name box, then click Apply To Model. The material is then applied to only the current part, and the material.mtl file, located in the C:\Program Files\Solid Edge ST6\Preferences folder, is not updated.

Update in Library

Updates the material and/or gage properties stored in an external material database file, material.mtl. The material.mtl file is used to populate the property set for each material on the Solid Edge Material Table dialog box.

Delete from Library

Removes the material and/or gage properties from the external material database file, material.mtl.
