Sheet metal sensors are available only in sheet metal documents.

1. On the toolbar on the left, click the Sensors tab.

2. On the Sensors pane, click the Sheet Metal Sensor button.

   

3. On the Sheet Metal Sensor command bar, from the Select list, select the Faces option.

   Tip:

   • To create a sheet metal sensor for the entire part, select the Entire Part option on the command bar and then click the Accept (checkmark) button.

4. In the graphics window, select the faces you want, then click the Accept (checkmark) button.

5. On the command bar, either select two edge sets or select a predefined sensor.

   Tip:

   • You also can create a sheet metal sensor from one of the predefined examples. When you select one of the predefined examples, the Edge Set 1 and Edge Set 2 boxes are filled in automatically.

6. On the command bar, click the Finish button.

7. In the Sheet Metal Sensor Parameters dialog box, define the sensor parameters, and then click OK.

   The sensor is displayed on the Sensors pane.
