Steps

Chamfer Options

Displays the Chamfer Options dialog box.

Select Face

Defines the face from which the setback is measured. This option is available when you set the Angle and Setback or the 2 Setbacks options on the Chamfer Options dialog box.

Select Edge

Defines the edges you want to chamfer.

Setback

For chamfers created with the Equal Setbacks option or the Angle and Setback option, sets the linear distance from the part face to the edge of the chamfer.

Angle

For chamfers created with the Angle and Setback option, sets the angle between the part face and the face of the chamfer.

Setbacks 1 And 2

For chamfers created with the 2 Setbacks option, sets the linear distances from the part face to each edge of the chamfer. The value you type in the Setback 1 box is applied to the face you selected during the Select Face step. The value you type in the Setback 2 box is applied to the adjacent face.

Name

Displays the feature name. Feature names are assigned automatically. You can edit the name by typing a new name in the box on the command bar or by selecting the feature and using the Rename command on the shortcut menu.

Activate Part

Activates an inactive part. This option is available only in the Assembly environment.

Select Face Step Options

Select

Sets the face selection method for defining the chamfer feature.

  • Face--Allows you to select an individual face.

  • Chain--Allows you to select a tangentially continuous chain of faces.

Deselect (x)

Clears the selection.

Accept (check mark)

Accepts the selection.

Select Edge Step Options

Select

Sets the edge selection method. Some edge selection options are not available in the Assembly environment.

  • Edge/Corner--Allows you to select individual edges, or to select all edges adjacent to a corner by selecting the corner.

  • Chain--Allows you to select tangentially continuous chains of edges.

  • Face--Allows you to select all the edges of a face by selecting the face.

  • Loop--Allows you to select all the edges of individual loops of a face by selecting the face and then choosing a loop.

  • Feature--Allows you to select all the edges of a feature by selecting the feature.

  • All Fillets--Allows you to select all inward-facing edges of a part by selecting the part.

  • All Rounds--Allows you to select all outward-facing edges of a part by selecting the part.

Deselect (x)

Clears the selection.

Accept (check mark)

Accepts the selection.
