Choose Surfacing tab→Surfaces group→Replace Face list→Divide Part |

On the Divide Part dialog box, click an existing division and then click the Insert button. |

| Step 3. |
Click a reference plane or construction surface to define where you want to divide the part. |

| Step 4. |
Click to define the cutting direction. |

| Step 5. |
On the command bar, click Finish. |

| Step 6. |
On the Divide Part dialog box, in the Filename column, type in the name for the new part document. |

| Step 7. |
Click the new division, then click the Save Selected Files button. |
Note:
If any parts need to be updated after the new division is inserted, it will be reflected in the status column. To update a part, select it, then click the Save Selected Files button.
