Saves the active document to a new name, folder, or format.
You can use the Save As command to save a new unmanaged document to your local machine or to a managed library.
If you use the Save As command on parts that are linked to an assembly, the saved-as copy of the part is not linked to the assembly.
If you want to save a document as an image file, use the Application menu→Save As→Save As Image command.
When you use the Save As command to save a new document to a managed library, it is also saved to your local cache, and the document remains checked out from the managed library. Subsequent saves will save the document only to the local cache until the document is checked in.
In an Insight-managed environment, a where-used action is performed to find associated draft documents.
In a Teamcenter-managed environment, draft documents are revised and checked in or uploaded along with the active document as specified by the Automatically Revise Drawings that use the Selected 3D Document check box on the Manage page of the Solid Edge Options dialog box.
In a Teamcenter or Insight XT-managed environment, draft documents are revised and checked in or uploaded along with the active document as specified by the Automatically Revise Drawings that use the Selected 3D Document check box on the Manage page of the Solid Edge Options dialog box.
Note:
In a Teamcenter-managed environment, if you perform a save-as action on a draft document the software checks to see if there is a 3D Solid Edge file in the same item revisions as the draft. You are not permitted to perform a save as of a draft of one file into an item revision that already has a 3D file.
