Template
Specifies the template to be used for the new document. You can click the Browse button to select a different template.
Browse
Displays the New dialog box so that you can define the document template you want to use.
New file name
Specifies the name of the new document.
Note:
The New File Name is disabled for use when you work in Solid Edge Embedded Client. You use the New Document dialog box to create the file properties in Teamcenter.
New file location
Identifies the storage location for the new document.
New location
You can select the New Location option and then the Browse button to specify a different storage location in a folder on your computer or a computer in your network.
Same as current assembly
Select the Same As Current Assembly option to have the new part file created automatically in the same folder as the assembly.
Browse
Displays the Browse For Folder dialog box so you can specify the storage location for the new document.
Note:

Coincident with assembly origin
Places the new part or subassembly at the origin, or center, of the assembly.
By graphic input
Positions the new part or subassembly using a face and an edge on an existing part.
Offset from assembly origin
Specifies that the new part or subassembly will be offset from the assembly origin. You can offset the new part or subassembly by selecting a keypoint on an existing part or by typing an offset value.
By keypoint
Positions the new part or assembly using a keypoint on an existing part. Valid keypoints include endpoints and midpoints of linear edges and centers of radial edges.
By value
Positions the new part or assembly when you type an offset value in the X, Y, and Z boxes. You can type a positive or negative offset value.
Ground parts and assemblies
Specifies whether the newly created part is grounded or not.
Create Part
Creates the part document only.
In SEEC, the part file is created and has a status of Checked In.
Create Part and Edit
Creates the new document and opens it in in-place edit mode, so you can continue creating new features within the context of the assembly.
In SEEC, the part file is created and opened for edit. The file has a status of Checked Out.
Note:
After you click the Create Part button or the Create Part and Edit button, the new file is created in the location you specified. If you cancel the create in-place operation by not saving the file, you must still delete the file if you want to use the same file name again.
