The Bullets and Numbering menu also contains the following options to control list numbering as you type:

  • No List—Applies normal paragraph formatting. Ends a list you have started.

  • Restart Numbering—For the selected lines in a numbered list, restarts the numbering sequence from the beginning, depending on the numbering style you are using. This applies to the selected lines and any lines that follow the selection.

  • Continue Numbering—Adds the selected paragraphs to the last used list, and continues the list numbering.

  • Increase Indent—Increases the indentation of the selected paragraph or list by the amount in the Default tab stops box on the Indents and Spacing tab of the Text Box Properties dialog box.

This option applies to all paragraphs, with or without lists.

  • Decrease Indent—Decreases the indentation of the selected paragraph or list by the amount in the Default tab stops box on the Indents and Spacing tab of the Text Box Properties dialog box.

This option applies to all paragraphs, with or without lists.

Note:

If you want to display a text box border greater than 2 mm, you must select the Display As Printed check box on the View tab of the Solid Edge Options dialog box.

Text Control

Fit to Content

Automatically sizes the width of the text box to its contents.

Use this option to ensure that the border always fits around text strings.

Fixed—Adjust Aspect Ratio

Maintains the width of the callout to be exactly the value specified in the Width box by automatically adjusting the aspect ratio. This changes the width of all of the characters in the callout text, without changing their height.

Fixed—Wrap Text

Automatically wraps the text that extends beyond the specified line width. A new line is started each time the characters in a word exceed the width of the callout box.

Text Orientation

Specifies that the text is oriented horizontally or vertically in the text box or text string.

Vertically oriented text is displayed so that it can be read vertically, from top to bottom. Each character in the text box is displayed on a line by itself.

When you use vertically oriented text, you should adjust the Text Control setting to ensure that the text is displayed vertically, as intended, and does not wrap or scale.
