3D modeling usually involves the use of solid bodies. At times you may want to do the following:

The boolean operation output body type is the same as the target body. As you perform boolean operations, boolean features appear in PathFinder.

Dynamic preview

After selecting a target body, the boolean command automatically enters a preview mode. The preview mode:

In the following example, a subtract operation produces a dynamic preview which shows a target (1) and two tool bodies (2). The new faces display in light blue. This edge coloration makes it easier to distinguish the tool bodies from the target bodies. You can deselect a tool or target body by pressing the Ctrl key while selecting the body.

You can switch back to the default shading for selected elements by pressing Ctrl+Shift+D.
