SolidWorks Data Migration Start Page

Assists in importing SolidWorks part, assembly, and drawing files into Solid Edge.

SolidWorks Host Name

Specifies the name of the machine where SolidWorks is installed. The host machine also contains the files to be migrated. You can browse to locate the host.

SolidWorks Working Folder

Specifies the name of the folder that contains the documents to migrate to Solid Edge. The folder must be shared and have read and write access.

Solid Edge Folder

Specifies the name of the Solid Edge client folder that stores Solid Edge documents before they are added to the Insight managed library. If you do not add the documents to a library, this is the final storage folder for the Solid Edge documents. The folder must have read and write access for the user that is currently logged on.

Part Template File

Specifies the part template to use when creating Solid Edge part files from the imported SolidWorks files. You can browse to search for a template. For more information see, Creating Documents and Using Templates.

Assembly Template File

Specifies the assembly template to use when creating Solid Edge assembly files from the imported SolidWorks files. You can browse to search for a template. For more information see, Creating Documents and Using Templates.

Draft Template File

Specifies the draft template to use when creating Solid Edge draft files from the imported SolidWorks files. You can browse to search for a template. For more information see, Creating Documents and Using Templates.

SolidWorks Configuration File

Displays the name of the SolidWorks configuration file to use during translation. This file contains the user-defined settings. The configuration file used by default is SolidWorks2SE.ini, located in the Solid Edge/program folder.

Log File Location

Specifies the folder path for the log file to generate during translation. The log file contents provide information such as the files being processed, the status, and where the results of the migration are being placed.

Enable Add to Library

Specifies that you want to add the SolidWorks documents to the Solid Edge managed library as managed documents.

Insight Folder

Specifies the name of the Insight root folder that will be the base folder for the SolidWorks data being imported. The folder is specified in URL format. If the folder does not exist, it will be created before the database is imported. You can browse to search for a folder.
